Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account info: name, email, business name, address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
• The inventory, listing, sales, expense, and booth data you enter to run your business.
• Photos you upload — item photos, receipts, and ThriftIQ appraisal photos.
• Basic usage data (pages visited, feature usage, API request logs) used to run and improve the service.

2. How we use it

To run Thriftier: store your inventory and sales records, generate your Analytics, process ThriftIQ appraisals and receipt scans, send account emails (password resets, two-factor codes), and process subscription payments. We don't sell your data or use it to train third-party AI models.

3. Who processes it on our behalf

Thriftier is built on a small set of trusted service providers, each handling only what they need to do their job, under agreements that restrict them from using your data for their own purposes:

• Payment processing — subscription payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
• Hosting & database — our application, database, file storage (photos), and login/authentication run on third-party cloud infrastructure providers.
• AI processing — ThriftIQ photo appraisals and receipt scanning use a third-party AI provider. Photos sent for analysis are processed under that provider's business data terms and are not used to train their models.
• Marketplace price data — item photos may be sent to a third-party marketplace API to find comparable listings for ThriftIQ price estimates.
• Email delivery — account emails (password resets, verification codes) are sent through a third-party email delivery provider.
• Product analytics — we use a third-party analytics provider to understand how the app is used (pages visited, features used) so we can improve it. This includes session recordings of on-screen activity, with sensitive figures (dollar amounts, cost data) and form inputs masked before they're captured.

4. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you want your account and data deleted, contact us at the email below and we'll remove it, other than records we're required to keep for tax or legal reasons (e.g. billing history).

5. Security

Every account requires email-based two-factor authentication. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

6. Children's privacy

Thriftier isn't intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
